In August 2018, Japan’s National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics (NINJAL) hosted the first international symposium “Approaches to Endangered Languages in Japan and Northeast Asia: Description, Documentation and Revitalization” in Tokyo as a direct result of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between LLL and NINJAL.
