Two Visiting Scholar Appointments in One Sabbatical

Christina Gerhardt, Assistant Professor of German, will be on sabbatical leave for the 2017-18 academic year, and will be a visiting scholar at Harvard University and the University of California at Berkeley. Both appointments support her new book project 1968 and West German Cinema. Previous related publications include two co-edited volumes 1968 and Global Cinema and Celluloid Revolt: German Screen Cultures and the Long Sixties and The Sixties: A Journal of History, Politics and Culture.

The Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies was founded in 1969 at Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences to promote the interdisciplinary understanding of European history, politics, economy, and societies.

The Institute of European Studies at the University of California at Berkeley seeks to enrich America’s understanding of Europe — its people, developments and challenges — through the generation and dissemination of distinguished scholarship. Gerhardt taught at UC-Berkeley from 2000 to 2006.
