UH Mānoa acknowledges the accomplishments of students who have taken college level courses in high school by granting waivers and/or credits on the basis of the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) Advanced Placement (AP) examination results or International Baccalaureate (IB), Higher Level Examination Results. Credits for AP/IB examinations do not count toward the 24 credit requirement for admission as a transfer student, nor do they exempt the applicant from submitting SAT/ACT scores or high school transcripts.
Mānoa accepts AP/IB credits in a variety of languages. The AP/IB factsheets below provide a list of courses, scores, and Mānoa credits granted based on the AP/IB Exams.

IB factsheet: https://manoa.hawaii.edu/
Procedure for obtaining AP/IB credits:
1. On the day of the AP/IB exam administered, the student must indicate that s/he wants the score to be sent to UH- Mānoa.
2. The UH-Mānoa Admissions Office will only accept scores sent directly by the CEEB.
3. Students may verify that the AP/IB credits have been properly granted by looking up their STAR report after July or by contacting the Office of Admissions and Records.
Note that courses for which AP/IB credits have been earned cannot be used as a basis for earning back credits. However, students who have earned AP/IB credits may also earn back credits for 101-202 courses for which AP/IB credits were not awarded if they complete an appropriate higher-level language course at UH-Mānoa with a grade of C or better.
