Excellence in Service Award

In recognition of outstanding service to the College of LLL

Jim Yoshioka serves as both events coordinator for the College of Languages, Linguistics & Literature and program coordinator for the National Foreign Language Resource Center (NFLRC). Throughout his 16 years with the college, he has helped successfully organize 26 NFLRC summer institutes and over 60 conferences and symposia at the local, national, and international levels, including the biennial International Conference on Language Documentation & Conservation. In addition, he co-facilitates two professional development series geared toward LLL graduate students: the Teacher Portfolio & Preparation Series and the Teaching Assistant Survival Society. He recently served as co-editor of the NFLRC monograph Noticing and Second Language Acquisition: Studies in Honor of Richard Schmidt.

 

LLL Service Award Recipient
